Hollywood Movie News (July 2025)
Welcome to What Should I Watch, Euphrose? today we’re discussing Hollywood movie news that has piqued my interest.
The Devil Wears Prada 2
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially in production. Comment how you feel about the sequel news!
I believe that classics should be left alone. However, surprisingly, I’m keeping an open mind about this sequel for 2 reasons:
1) It has been almost a decade since the release of The Devil Wears Prada (2006) so a somewhat acceptable amount of time has passed.
2) I choose to believe that Meryl Streep wouldn’t sign on to an unimaginative, unnecessary sequel that tarnishes the established legacy of Miranda Priestly.
I read reports that the overarching storyline is digital media killing the print magazine industry. To that I say, Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.

The Social Network 2
Another sequel of a certified modern classic! Surprisingly, again, I’m not mad at the announcement of The Social Network 2.
Insiders say that while it’s being called part two, it’s not a straight sequel but rather a follow-up to the original movie that explored the origins of what would become the world’s biggest social media platform. - DEADLINE.com
Now that the ‘Facebook’ era has evolved to Meta the timing of a sequel tracks. My only requirement is that Jesse Eisenberg must sign on to reprise the role of Mark Zuckerberg. If he doesn’t then dead it.
Dave Bautista cast as Romcom Lead
DAVE BAUTISTA FINALLY GETS HIS ROMCOM ROLE!
Bautista has made no secret of his ambition to play a lead in a romantic project, acknowledging that his physique may not make him the typical rom-com lead. I’m ecstatic to learn that he has been cast in an upcoming rom-com project titled The Romantic.
The film tells the story of bestselling romance author Francine London, who has a secret: she’s actually a six-foot-four mountain of a man named Ed Schwenke. When Ed’s identity comes under scrutiny, he hires a wildcard of a woman to pose as Francine at a romance fiction convention, while evading a cynical female journalist, who hates romance even more than she hates liars. - DEADLINE.com
For years Bautista has delivered detailed, rich performances in every role he’s taken on, however big or small.
The Last Showgirl (2025)
Knock at the Cabin (2023)
Dune (2021)
Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
Bautista is determined to expand his range and he truly respects the craft - that is an actor I can support. I’m excited for him AND US!
Denis Villeneuve set to direct James Bond
IN DENIS WE TRUST!
Amazon MGM Studios confirmed Denis Villeneuve as the director for the first post-Daniel Craig era James Bond movie. Dune (2021), Dune: Part 2 (2024) and Prisoners (2013) are the Denis Villeneuve projects I’ve watched, and in the words of Justin Bieber: I’ve seen what I needed to see and I’m sold. He delivers immersive, emotive, captivating cinema.
Now we wait for who he’ll cast as James Bond - comment your suggestions!
